Finding Favor began with a simple belief: everyone deserves to feel supported, connected, and empowered in the place they call home. Rooted in the world of affordable housing development, we recognized a critical need—not just for housing, but for programs that truly enrich the lives of residents. From that need, Finding Favor was born.

 

As a nonprofit, our mission is to serve low- and moderate-income families and seniors. We partner with affordable and workforce housing communities to deliver compassionate, community-centered resident services that meet people where they are.

Our outreach efforts focus on seniors aged 55 and older, helping to reduce isolation and promote engagement through thoughtful activity programs and social connections. We collaborate with developers and property managers to shape welcoming, inclusive community spaces—often starting before a project even breaks ground.

We are equally committed to supporting families. We are currently developing a volunteer-led reading initiative designed to help children reach grade-level proficiency by the fourth grade, recognizing that early literacy is a key to lifelong opportunity. This program brings generations together, with seniors from our communities playing an active role in mentoring young readers.

Finding Favor also advocates for essential workers—teachers, healthcare professionals, firefighters, and police officers—by helping connect them with rental support and housing stability resources. Through financial counseling and homeownership readiness programs, we equip residents with tools to build stronger futures.

Outside our housing communities, we work closely with foster families, offering wraparound services and educational support to ensure children and caregivers alike have what they need to thrive.
